1. Overview
Cork is a local-first Chrome extension. The current release is free and does not require Google sign-in, subscription verification, or a device ID.
This Policy explains how Cork handles information in the extension, on the Cork website, and on temporary shared chart pages.
2. Local extension data
Cork may store browsing and video insight data locally on your device using Chrome extension storage and IndexedDB. This may include URLs, page titles, visit timestamps, active time, categories, video metadata, creator or channel names, tags, thumbnails, summaries, local Cork / Uncork backups, cookies for selected sites, Vacuum List entries, retention settings, and language preferences.
Local data may be deleted if you uninstall Cork, clear browser data, reset Chrome, change browser profiles, use cleanup tools, or manually clear extension storage.
3. Cork / Uncork and cookies
When you enable Cork features for selected sites, the extension may back up and remove matching local Chrome history records and related cookies when Chrome APIs and website rules allow it. Uncork may attempt to restore local backups. Cookie restoration is not guaranteed because cookies can expire or be restricted by browser and website rules.
4. History import
The history import feature may open recent video pages in background tabs to refresh local video metadata. This is used to enrich your local charts and does not require account login.
5. Shared chart pages
If you choose to share charts, Cork sends generated chart images and a simple HTML page to backend services that upload the share page to Cloudflare R2. Shared pages are public to anyone with the link while they remain published. Demo share pages may be kept available for review.
Shared chart pages may include chart images, chart labels, publication metadata, and advertising placeholder areas. Do not share a chart if it contains information you do not want others to see.
6. Website and ads
The Cork website includes Google AdSense code for site verification and advertising support. Google and its partners may process browser, device, cookie, or ad interaction data according to Google's policies. Cork does not sell extension browsing history, cookies, or local video insight data.
7. Remote service providers
Cork may use Firebase / Google Cloud for backend functions and Cloudflare R2 for temporary shared chart hosting. These services process data only as needed to provide the requested feature.
8. Your choices
- You can disable Cork features or uninstall the extension.
- You can change local retention settings.
- You can edit or clear your Vacuum List.
- You can avoid chart sharing if you do not want a public share page.
- You can contact support for privacy questions.
9. Children
Cork is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, but no browser extension, local storage system, CDN, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued use of Cork after updates means you acknowledge the revised Policy.
